Last night November 18 2015 we were fortunate to cover the soft opening of El Dieciocho. The ambiance of this location is one of the best in Las Terrenas. Dieciocho has good views of the ocean from the lounge area and is an excellent example of a Caribbean open air restaurant. We snapped photos of a restaurant that quickly filled up. A talented saxophone player entertained. This felt like a great start to the high season.
The Food: This was a soft opening with only drinks and appetizers (we will come back to try their main courses). Some of our favorites were the (translated) Chicken Croquettes, Hummus and Calamari. We especially enjoyed the expertly crafted Pina Colada. It was the largest and tastiest we have had in Las Terrenas.
The Price: We ordered from the Tapas menu where you pay 400 pesos, select 3 Tapas and 200 pesos for one very large Pina Colada. We find this pricing to be about average for quality restaurants here in Las Terrenas.
