Ballenas (whale) Beach is named for the two rocks off shore visible from the beach that have the general appearance of whales. As you leave the center Northern part of town you will be on a street that parallels this beach. Initially you will be in the Pueblo De Los Pescadores where there are many restaurants and bars right on the beach. The further west you go the less structures you will see. Eventually all you will see is beautiful beach. Near the end of this beach in the sheltered cove you will find placid water and a freshwater river that is great for rinsing off sand and salt. In the high season the Pueblo De Los Pescadores rocks! You can come out for dancing and fun at night or move further down the beach during the day and find your own plot of sand.
